Rule 1: Only a Monster Can Kill a Monster

The air is hot and arid. A wind blows across the dunes, pelting the travelers with nearly invisible debris. The wind itself is as hot as an oven, serving to make the travelers even hotter. The ground sinks and shifts beneath their feet. The sky is clear, allowing the sun to shine down on the cloaked travelers unchallenged. Still, the duo marches on.

The travelers are dressed similarly, yet there are also distinct differences. They both wear all white cloaks that cover their body and white cloths tied around their faces. Their eyes are shielded by black goggles and hands are covered in gloves. Both cloaks have golden crosses on their backs.

The one in the lead has leather armor beneath his cloak. Writing encircles the collar and hem of the chest piece. It also wraps around the gauntlets on his arms. The one following wears white formal clothing beneath their clothes. They hold a book in their hands, held at the ready to be opened in a moments notice.

The one in the front stops, raising a hand to halt his partner. She quickly freezes, glancing across the horizon. The one in the lead looks forward, his eyes locked on a sand dune in front of them. It doesn't take long for her to see why.

The sand of the dune is shifting, rolling down the hill while something moves beneath it. Occasionally, light reflects off golden scales or yellow eyes. Whatever is moving beneath the sands moves towards the duo, sand rolling over them like water over a fish.

The book opens and a soft whispered prayers utters forth. Soon, the woman is encased in a bubble of light. The man in front is outside of it. The creatures begin to circle around the duo.

"The witch would sacrifice her defender to save herself. Does the Order's hypocrisy know no bounds?"

"Wrong. She is protecting herself from me." The man says, raising a hand to his chest.

"Heretic!" Six golden humanoid serpents launch themselves from the sand at the man, fear and rage in their eyes. The serpentine voices screech as they pounce, some with swords in hand, others with mouths agape and fangs bared.

Fire explodes outwards from the man in the front, instantly consuming the three closest serpents. The shockwave shakes the woman's barrier and launches the other three serpents outwards. Meanwhile, the explosion shapes into a pillar of fire that races towards the heavens. The pillar slowly shapes into a man made of smoke and fire, eyes blazing white and mouth opening into a terrifying roar.

The serpents attempt to flee. The woman can't help but shiver as she looks upon the back of the monster in front of her. Her barrier will protect her. It always has. But one does not simply look at pure rage and feel nothing.

The titan looks down on the fleeing serpents as they borough into the sand. Fire shoots under the sand from the titan, targeting each of the serpents. Their voices cut through the air in terrified screams. Screams that are swiftly and painfully silenced as the fire shoot up out of the ground where the serpents used to be.

Then, the titan turns its gaze upon the woman in the bubble.
